All I Want For Christmas

In case anyone was wondering, I was able to successfully pick out leggings and a hair tie magically appeared. 😆 Most of the time I steal them from my dad because he always has one wrapped around his fingers. Just like how my mom says that Lorelei and I have him wrapped around our fingers. 😂

It has been an extremely busy few weeks. I have had tests, essays due, and homework every single night. I have written this blog several times and erased it every time. I have really been struggling with what I wanted to write about. I have written so many drafts, that I have forgotten where I started.

So here goes.....

My sister and I had Christmas concerts a few weeks ago which caused us to miss class for an entire week. Then, as luck would have it, Lorelei got Pneumonia, I got the flu, and we had to miss even more training. We finally got to start going again last week, but we sure have missed a lot this month. Christmas is only two days away now which will cause us to miss even more. My grandma (Yia-Yia ) is here for a few weeks, which is always my favorite. She lives in Florida and we don't get to see her very often.

We will have a lot of people in our house for the next ten days or so. I love when she comes to visit because the whole family gets together and just stays at our house. We have so much fun and I never get bored because there's always something going on. My cousins will all be here and it would be nice to be able to practice some Jiu Jitsu on them. 🤣 I didn't ask for anything this year, which is really no different from any other year. I like to see my parents scramble to figure out what to get us for Christmas. 😂 What I mean by my parents scrambling is, my mom does everything and nothing changes for my dad. 😜 He goes to work like normal and things just fall into place. My mom though, she has to go to work, organize everything and everyone, and get everything ready. Through all of this, i still have found a way out of doing the dishes, it's very important to take time for yourself. 😊 (I'm only kidding; or am I?😂)

There isn't really anything that I need. If I could ask for one thing, it would be to get back on the winning track. The last few months have been a real struggle at the tournaments for me. My coach brought in an adult female (Karina) to help me train. 😎 I rolled with her last week and it was awesome! I learned a lot in just one day. I'm extremely lucky to have such supportive people in my life. ❤ There is also a girl similar to my age that recently started coming to class, which is awesome for both of us. I'm at a weird age where I'm finding it difficult to find training partners that are my size. That is literally the only frustrating thing about training.

I will also tell you that I can never escape from Jiu Jitsu. Not that I want to, I just find it funny. My geometry teacher finds Jiu Jitsu interesting, so he's always asks questions. Apparently, he has been talking to my other teachers because the other day my Comm. Arts/Language Arts teacher started asking me about what Jiu Jitsu is and joking around. So, with all the questioning it reminded me how much I wanted to get on the mats and train.

To replace the lack of Jiu Jitsu in the last few weeks, I increased my strength training. I have a rower at my house that helps with cardio and is way better than any other running. I don't like to run even on the elliptical because it's so boring. The row machine has games on it to make sure that you have to think and work at the same time. I also have increased to using the bands as well as free weights. I hope to improve my explosiveness with the types of workouts that I'm doing.

Well, I hope everyone gets to have a Christmas filled with laughs and lots of family around to annoy them. I hope you all get everything you asked for. I am still waiting for the sloth that I asked for three years ago, maybe this is the year. Keep your fingers crossed. I am off to eat meat pies, drink soda (or pop if you're from Illinois) and maybe a little eggnog if there's any left.

I hope you enjoyed! 😜
