In almost everything you do, you make goals. Whether you want to or not. Some ways you may do this in your everyday life is, when you pick up a book, you usually have the intention to finish it. Or when you go onto Instagram you are most likely going to look at what people have been doing or posting. Or even when you go to someone's house, you will most likely hang out or talk to them. You wouldn't go to their room and take a nap or something. 😂
Now focusing more on my goals for Jiu Jitsu. Obviously I have short term and long term goals. My long term goal is to eventually earn and receive my black belt (way in the future). My short term goal is to win the tournament this upcoming Saturday(November 9). Although this is off topic, my Dad's birthday is also November 9, meaning this Saturday I have to win this tournament...for him. Well, mostly for me. 🤣 Maybe continue training, work on some things to better my Jiu Jitsu game, and I want to eventually travel more for tournaments.
With goals, if you really want it, then you would probably make a plan to get the outcome you envisioned when you made the goal. So, these are my plans. To win the tournament this Saturday, I will train my best and I will take note of the mistakes I make in practice so that I can improve and work on them. I don't really have a plan for continuing my training, I have a motivation and that is my love for Jiu Jitsu. To travel more for tournaments, I have to start winning some of the local tournaments, or at least that would be ideal. When we find a tournament that we would like to take the time and money to travel for, we will start selling the resistance bands more and more to earn the money for the trip.
So, what I've been trying to get across in this blog is that goals are very important in anything you do. But if you don't make a plan to achieve that goal, then it will just be a dead end. There is no point in doing anything if you aren't going to give it all you've got.
